Psychotherapie
Mag.a Magdalena Fischer
Psychotherapy is a scientifically based method that can help you cope with persistent burdens such as depression, addiction, stress or anxiety and enable lasting change. It can support you in challenging phases of your life and give you stability during crises. Perhaps you want change and find yourself confronted with the fact that the current situation is difficult to bear. When you feel overwhelmed, at a standstill and in the case of recurring stressful conflicts, psychotherapy opens up space to better understand your own thoughts, feelings and actions. Stressful relationship and action patterns can be changed in the long term in order to gain more freedom, self-determination and quality of life. Therapy should offer you a protected environment in which you are given space to share what is weighing on you at your own pace.
Goals can be, for example:
My psychotherapeutic approach is Integrative Therapy. This method combines elements from psychodynamic, behavioral, and humanistic traditions. In exploring the burdens and stressors in a person's life, developmental psychology, social sciences, and neuroscience perspectives are interwoven. The individual's social, ecological, and economic context—both throughout their life story and in their current environment—is thoughtfully considered. I place importance on viewing burdens through a discrimination-sensitive lens. Integrative Therapy offers a holistic view of what it means to be human. Perception, thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations are seen as processes in constant interaction with one another. Distress and burdens affect all of these areas: how we think, feel, act, and experience our bodies. At the heart of the sessions is dialogue, which can be complemented by creative and body-oriented methods.
My services are aimed at adults in individual therapy settings. I offer psychotherapy in English and in German.
Initial Consultation
The initial, non-binding consultation serves as an opportunity for us to get to know each other, to clarify your concerns, and to discuss the framework of the therapy. You don’t need to prepare anything or bring any documents.
A trusting therapeutic relationship is central to effective therapy. It’s important that you take this first session as a space to explore whether you can envision engaging in the therapeutic process with me. I dedicate a full session (50 minutes) to this first meeting.
The cost of the initial consultation is €80.
Fees
A regular therapy session lasts 50 minutes and costs €80. Reimbursement through public health insurance is not possible. However, I offer a limited number of reduced-rate slots (Sozialtarif). Please feel free to inquire if needed.
Duration of Therapy
The duration of therapy depends on your individual concerns and needs. It may range from a few sessions to several months or years. Based on experience, it is often helpful to begin with regular weekly sessions to support the therapeutic process.
Confidentiality
Everything shared during our sessions is strictly confidential, in accordance with the Austrian Psychotherapy Act. This confidentiality applies to all individuals and institutions.
Online Therapy
Therapy can also take place online if attending in person regularly is not possible for you. I’m happy to discuss whether online sessions would be a suitable option within the context of your therapy.
I work in Vienna, supporting people in outpatient care at the ÖAGG Psychotherapeutische Ambulanz (pta), as well as in my own private psychotherapy practice in the 8th district.
